Memory of Lost Loved Ones

Memory Sign by Marrygrams

As emotional as weddings are, they could be even more emotional when you are missing a deceased loved one on your special day. For me, it was my late father and I racked my mind for months trying to figure out how to honor him at the ceremony/reception. There are so many ways you can salute a missing loved one during the wedding- from a note of recognition in the wedding program to a moment of silence during the ceremony. You could even do something subtle like walking down to their favorite song or serving a special dish in their honor. I attended my cousin’s wedding last week and I loved how the couple took multiple moments throughout the day to remember their deceased fathers. At the reception, the bride surprised her groom with a slideshow full of the intimate moments they shared with their daddies (you already know I bawled like a baby). Here are a few more ways you could honor those special people.

Like I said, there are so many ways you could honor a deceased loved one. The video below however has to be the winner.

Thank you so much for this post. Will definitely be needing it when I’m getting married.
